SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW

One of the most beautiful songs in the world sung by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, called IZ, the musical legend of Hawaii (lyrics: E. Y. Harburg, music: Harold Arlen, 1930ies).
Israel Kamakawiwo’ole who left this world in 1997 certainly was one of the most fascinating musicians of our times.
In the end of this video, with the song „Somewhere over the rainbow“, you can watch his funeral at sea. What a magical moment with all the family, friends and fans rejoicing and aplauding happily to IZ while enjoying the sun and the sea.

While watching this beautiful loving musical homage to Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, a lot of feelings but also some philosophical questions arise. Some of these questions might be:

WHAT KIND OF DEATH, WHAT KIND OF FUNERAL
WOULD I LIKE TO HAVE?
WHAT KIND OF LIFE WOULD I LIKE TO LIVE?
WHAT KIND OF DREAM DO I DARE TO DREAM?

„Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Someday I’ll wish upon a star
Wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where trouble melts like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That’s where you’ll find me“
